I am a Biological Surveys and Assessment Program ecologist with the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS) in the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I conduct surveys and habitat assessments for threatened and endangered amphibians and reptiles in areas scheduled for transportation improvements (roads, bridges, railways, etc). Thus, I spend more time than the average person looking for and identifying road kill. As time and funding allows I pursue my own research interests which can be found here.
